Rebuilt GM Chevy 6.0L Engines for Sale
Small Block Chevy 6.0 Liter Engines Were Born in 1955
It’s hard to believe, but those small block V8 engines of the mid-1950s are actually progenitors of Vortec 6000 6-liter engines like the LY6, L76, LFA Vortec 6000 cc, and the L96 marine engine. Rebuilt Chevy 6.0L Engines for Sale are on sale at low prices every day, no tricks.
The 1955, 265 cubic inch 6.0 liter engine was launched to power passenger cars and the mighty Corvette. The 283 cubic inch was the follow-up engine, but the 327 cubic inch and the 350 cubic 6.0l actually put Chevy in the limelight when it came to 1960s muscle cars. The small block was compact, but like Pacquiao it packed a powerful punch.
The 327 offered more horsepower per cubic inch than any other V8 except the 302, but some car aficionados still go back and forth with facts and figures that prove the 302 is number one. Nonetheless, Chevy kept tweaking both engines and the small block 6.0 liter engines of the 2000s followed the lead of their mighty predecessors. They perform like their grandfathers who earned the right to be called the muscle champions of yesteryear.
Third and Fourth Generation 6.0 liter Vortec Engines are Packed with Power
The LQ4, which is called a third generation engine was designed as a truck engine so the Silverado, the GMC Sierra, the Hummer H2, and the GMC Yukon SUV as well as the GMC Savana Van, and the Chevy Express all had the LQ4 as their power source. The Vortec 6000’s heads were cast iron in 2000, but the engines built after 2000 have aluminum heads. A deep skirt block reduced engine vibration and made them a little more rigid. These 6.0 liter beauties produce 300 to 320 horsepower with 360 to 370 ft-lbs of torque.
The fourth generation includes the high performance HO 6000, which was the pumping power for the Escalade and Silverado Super Sport from 2003 to 2007. The HO 6000 is a 345 horsepower 380 ft-lbs of torque road machine that has few peers. It was under the hood of the Suburban, GMC trucks, and the mean Chevy Avalanche. The Generation IV LS2 was the brawn behind the Corvette. The L76 is also marketed as a Generation IV VortecMax. The L76 has an all aluminum block, an and Active Fuel Management System, plus a variable cam. It delivers 367 horsepower with 375 ft-lbs of torque.
